quick note from Midnight

Have you missed us? We've missed you!

The Lady's been sick for 4 days. The Allergic Girl, the Quiet Girl and the (formerly) Blonde Girl are all sick too. There's been nobody to help us post. Sorry! Here's a quick update on the feral situation:

The Lady couldn't capture anyone for spay/neuter this past weekend because she was sick. This coming weekend is Spay Day LA, and some clinics are doing free spay/neuter. We hope to get at least one or two kitties over there. The Lady has to call them today for information.

On Saturday, the Lady dragged her sick self out of bed and took many many bags of clothes over to a local rescue group, Purrfect Partners. They're having a fundraising yard sale and needed donations. The nice lady who took the clothes said that they would help with placing the new litter of kittens (once we catch them) and the trapping and fixing of the bigger cats. Our Lady needs to e-mail them and set this up.

A couple nights ago, our Lady's mom (the one with the ferals in her backyard) awoke to lots of noise at 4 AM. She looked out on the patio and it was swarming with cats (more than a dozen). Among the new cats was a black kitty who came right up to her and wanted petting. This one obviously wasn't feral. Our Lady suggested putting a collar on her with a note saying "your cat has been coming over to my house to eat - please call me and let me know where she lives". We don't want to trap someone's pet.

GW has decided he loves to be an indoor/outdoor kitty. He comes in to nap and play, then goes out when he feels like it. He has told our Lady's mom that she is His Person and he is there to stay. She's going to have him microchipped.

LG is doing well after her spay, but she got chased up the avocado tree by a woofie, then was being harrassed by huge crows. She was terrified and was very happy to have our Lady's mom climb up a ladder and rescue her. She's been sticking very close to GW now.

More later, plus pictures of us. After all, this is OUR blog.

Love,
Midnight
